Encore Resort at Reunion, a 963-acre vacation rental home property near the major Orlando theme parks, has a well-known face now leading its ambassador team — NFL Hall of Famer Dan Marino.

The former Miami Dolphins Quarterback has joined Encore Resort as its "Official Brand Ambassador," which means the resort can tap into Marino's influence for ad campaigns like TV spots, billboards, print ads, social media promos and personal appearances and events at the resort.

Marino also will team up with the resort, which includes many amenities for guests, to design a “Marino House” that features memorabilia from his career. In addition, future partnership endeavors include an on-site Sports Facility and Dan Marino Sports Academy to train and educate young athletes.

“We are so thrilled to have Dan Marino partner with Encore Resort at Reunion,” said Neil Eisner, managing director of Encore Resort at Reunion, in a prepared statement. “Dan is a nationally recognized personality who not only brings a winning attitude, but also loves to spend time with his family, which fits in perfectly with the family atmosphere at Encore Resort.”

Added Nick Falcone, co-owner of NDM Hospitality, the management company for Encore Resort at Reunion: "Having Dan Marino as the name and face for the Encore Resort brand is a major enhancement to the appeal of our brand. During Dan’s career he made a mark on the game of football and the quarterback position by turning it from a run oriented game to an air attack. This change was something that revolutionized the game and generated great excitement for fans everywhere. At Encore Resort at Reunion, we are revolutionizing the travel industry just like Dan did with football — by creating a new type of vacation experience by combining the comforts of home with the luxury and amenities of a resort. We feel that the combination of Dan’s amazing reputation and following mixed with our revolutionary concept will create immense exposure and appeal for our new and growing brand."

Here, Marino talks about what appealed to him about Encore Resort:

What about Encore Resort at Reunion attracted you to be a brand ambassador?
I’ve had the pleasure of knowing the owner/developer, Art Falcone for many years. In fact, our kids went to school together. From that long-standing relationship, I knew the Falcone Group did great work and wanted to be a part of what they were doing at Encore at Reunion.

What factors do you look for in a product before you decide to be a brand ambassador?
Relationships always have been important to me, so that’s a starting point, and then making sure the quality of the product or service is at a level I would want to associate with.

What about the team that Encore put together reminds you of being on a football field with your own team?
It’s always hard to compare an athletic team and how they perform with a team of employees in another field, because there is a certain physicality in sports that doesn’t necessarily transfer to other fields. However, having employees who have a passion for what they do and a commitment to hard work is a similarity I see from the Encore team.

What do you hope the onsite sports amenities like the Sports Facility and Dan Marino Sports Academy provide for future guests?
We hope to evolve the relationship to include other projects and events, such as a football fantasy camp, etc.
